This refers to the report, “I may be killed like my grandmother, father; I don't care: Rahul” (October 24). The Congress vice president appears to be nervous nowadays. He should know that one should not throw stones while sitting in a glass house.
For most of the years since the country's independence, Congress has ruled at the Centre and in the States. A majority of the communal clashes and resulting deaths has occurred under Congress or non-BJP regimes. Mr Rahul Gandhi should not divert attention by talking of the assassination of his grandmother and father.
The Khalistan movement and the Sri lankan Tamil issue were creations of the Congress. By raising emotional matters, Mr Gandhi is trying to project himself as a victim. The country is facing crises all fronts and voters want a functioning Government. He should note that nearly 50 per cent of the voters were born after him and face a bleak future if the Congress returns to power.
