Intolerant leader

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Not seeing the obvious” (December 11). Mr Nitish Kumar is persistently expressing hostile, hurtful and hateful invectives against Mr Narendra Modi without justified reasons. His ardent jealousy is in fact coming in the way of his stated desire to serve the people of Bihar. No doubt he was very popular and enthusiastic when his coalition Government was functioning with the BJP, and he was unwaveringly admired by all sections of the people in the State. His popularity is now declining after his party walked out of the NDA.

Also, he protested against the arrest of extremist elements out to dismember India. The law and order situation is deteriorating in the State. Of course, his governance is better than that of lalu Prasad. But Mr Modi is making Gujarat a model and ideal State, which Mr Nitish Kumar is failing to do with Bihar. He should learn the ideals of democracy which provide for both tolerance and dissent without disruption or hatred.
