Sir — This refers to the article, “Terror turf war that threatens India” (September 6) by Hiranmay Karlekar. India urgently needs a ministry to handle internal security, with responsibility for counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency and cyber-terrorism.
The ministry needs to track all anti-national activities including those of the Indian Mujahideen, the banned Students Islamic Movement of India and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, among others.
It is strange that India does not have a National Counter-Terrorism Centre like America has. Indeed, we do not even yet have a full-fledged Union Minister for Defence!
