Sir — It is to be deliberated seriously whether the US or any Western country can really give us real protection from the humiliating border skirmishes like air space violation and border intrusions which China is indulging in, to remind us that theirs is a far bigger and stronger country in Asia. True, India is not lagging behind in the scientific and technological sphere. Particularly, in space technology, India is undoubtedly superior. But such superiority cannot prevent the nefarious activities of Pakistan. To confront such activities, India’s defence is to be always on its toes.
With India as an ally, China will no longer need Pakistan as much as it needs it now. Pakistan will also not get as much patronage as it is getting now against India. This does not mean India will have to capitulate, India will have to stop opposing China in matters which do not concern us directly.
