Sir — This refers to the report, “State Cong backs SP Govt’s move” (August 1). It comes as no surprise that the Congress is supporting the Samajwadi Party in its reprehensible decision to thwart and suspend a young and honest IAS officer, who had taken it upon herself to cleanse the system.
The IAS officer, Durga Shakti Nagpal, took on the brazen sand mafia and also allegedly demolished an illegally constructed wall in public land. It is shameful that senior members of the ruling Samajwadi Party and the Congress are undermining Ms Nagpal, instead of commending her efforts.
