This refers to the article, “Maligned and ridiculed agency has last laugh” (October 7) by Joginder Singh. The writer has admitted that he faced political pressure from the highest levels but he just ignored it. We must salute the honesty and dedication of the former Central Bureau of Investigation chief due to which the fodder scam case came to its logical end. Efforts of the bureaucrat, Mr Amit Khare, who first smelled a rat and initiated the proceedings, are more noteworthy since he must have been the man in the direct firing line of the then Government of Bihar, just as Mr Ashok Khemka and Ms Durga Shakti Nagpal were in their States of posting.
Political leaders are hand-in-glove with some bureaucrats to siphon public money and then they shield one another. It is the pressure of vested interests at the higher levels in the Government from whose clutches the premier investigating agency is to be freed.
