Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Makeover for cricket” (January 6). Headed by former Chief Justice of India RM lodha, the reform panel has suggested some far-reaching changes in the national cricketing body that will benefit cricket in India.
Similar reforms are required in other sports bodies too. It has been a trend for our politicians, especially ministers, to hold positions in sports associations, as if they are doing some exemplary work. Such situations have forced people to believe that India is perhaps the only country where inefficiency, lethargy, incompetence and non-performance is rewarded.
