This refers to the editorial, “For a unified tax regime” (August 5). After more than a decade, the big tax reform has got through as a fragile political consensus emerged between the BJP and the rest of the opposition parties. But then, the Goods and Services Tax Bill, still needs a nod from the States. The procedural requirements are such that it would be quite an achievement if the GST can be enforced from the next financial year.
