Sir — The Union Government has announced a slew of new urban projects. The UPA regime had lost out on several important schemes due to poor planning and implementation. Mr Narendra Modi’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, smart cities, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation and housing for all, are all ambitious, but they can suffer without proper preparation and delivery.
Approximately 30 per cent of the population lives in cities, and the figure is expected to shoot up manifold. Therefore, the vision of 100 smart cities and two crore houses by 2022 is impressive.
