Sir — This refers to the article, “Certainly not humble. HonestIJ Not too sure” (October 29) by Gautam Mukherjee. Honesty does not lie in not taking any pecuniary benefits for oneself. If a person, while performing his duties, looks the other way or does not look at all so that another person may get undue benefits, the former cannot be accepted as honest. It reminds me of a security scam done by Harshad Mehta years back. Our present Prime Minister was the Finance Minister at that time. Without casting aspersions on anyone, I only want to know whether his role was investigated in any manner at that time.
