Sir — Amnesty International has recently documented and published a report on the ethnic cleansing of Muslims by Christian militia groups, which has been happening since early January 2014 in the western part of the Central African Republic. This is a sad example of the clash between Christian and Islamic civilisations in Africa.
Any kind of ethnic cleansing is barbaric and hence condemnable. Therefore, one wonders why Amnesty International has scarcely shown any interest in the ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Kashmir since 1990s or in Pakistan and Bangladesh since 1947 and 1972 respectively. But it is pointless to blame Amnesty for its negligence. The more serious fault lies with the Indian mainstream media which has deliberately ignored or soft-pedalled the plight of Hindu victims.
