Sir — This refers to the article, “The rise of a new wave of militancy in J&K” (July 20) by Ashok K Mehta. Everyone knows the truth. There is no, or should I say, there wasn’t any scope to use bullets, unless invited forcibly by creating an artificial suppression. In 2010, when the UPA Government was in power, some 110 people were killed in a similar worse unrest. The Congress should extend a constructive hand to the ruling Government to tackle the situation in the valley.
