Harsh ban

Sir — This refers to the article, “US sending the wrong message” (February 21) by Ishaan Saxena. No doubt, the US is the indomitable world power. It is not only the champion of liberty and democracy, but also that its sphere of influence over the world community is widely realised. The firm resolve and determination of the US President to eliminate the 

burgeoning terrorism from the world is well appreciated accepted and acknowledged.

President Donald Trump has even challenged China’s forceful sovereignty over the South China Sea and its contiguity. Its contribution to world peace progress and security are markedly acclaimed. But Trump’s aggressive designs to ban immigrants from seven Muslim countries from entering the US is a breach of liberal policy, which the country had been pursuing after the Second World War. It is hoped that Trump will reconsider his decision.
