Sir — This refers to the article, “Debate, expose and discredit” (July 14) by KG Suresh. It examines the facts that make Article 370 redundant, but the analysis will not persuade Jammu & Kashmir’s mainstream leaders from the Congress, the National Conference and the PDP, to acknowledge the truth.
Trouble-makers, who are dancing to the tunes of godfathers from across the border, will not accept any change in the situation.
Therefore, a thorough and open debate on Article 370 is the best possible alternative to show the hollowness of the provision.
Also, Kashmiri youth must be explained how they are being deprived of attractive prospects in the rest of the country and how they are being discriminated against due to Article 370.
The youth in the valley and elsewhere in the State, if given quality access to social media, can make a huge difference by compelling the political class to see the writing on the wall.
