This refers to the article, “Peddling falsehoods in Gujarat campaign” (December 13) by Anirban Ganguly. Without an iota of doubt, the Gujarat election is the most keenly watched election after the Uttar Pradesh election. It is also a high-stake election for the ruling party. But the way Opposition Congress has indulged in mud-slinging is completely in bad taste and uncalled for. Not only Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s request to Pakistan to eliminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the power but even Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s misadventure with China during the Doklam issue goes to show which side of fence these Congressmen like to sit and it is highly unfortunate that for them, the nation comes second to power.
The fact is that the ever since suffering defeat in the 2014 General Election, the Congress has not able to digest the fact that a person from a humble background has become the Prime Minister. What was astonishing is that Rahul Gandhi has been making visits to almost every prominent temple in Gujarat to prove that he is a true Hindu. let us see for how long he will continue with this new-found practice. The Gujarat election result will reveal it all.
