Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Course correction time” (September 18). The result of the by-polls is definitely a big jolt for the BJP. It is time for the party to introspect as to what led to its dismal performance in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
It has rightly been said in the editorial that it is not a good omen for the BJP which is dreaming of dislodging the ruling Samajwadi Party from the communally-sensitive State of Uttar Pradesh.
It is good that the BJP has to wake up early from its slumber of self-satisfaction after its resounding win in the lok Sabha election. It gives the party enough time to get its act together.
