Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Can the titan re-deliverIJ” (June 4). Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy’s return to the company as executive chairman is welcome news, not just for the company and the employees he nurtured, but also for his many admirers. Indeed, even the market reacted positively to the news of the veteran entrepreneur’s second innings, with Infosys shares registering a hike.
No doubt, Mr Murthy has his task cut out. Infosys has been going through a rough patch in recent years. And faced with the ignominy of being dislodged from its prime position, it also found itself less prepared to deal with the challenges of an aggressive market and smart competitors. Mr Murthy might not be able to repeat the earlier success story but he will surely change a few things necessary to regain the market leadership position.
