Sir — This refers to Operation Rahat, carried out to evacuate Indians from war-torn Yemen. The well-managed operation was overseen by Minister for External Affair Sushma Swaraj from New Delhi, while the Minister of State for External Affairs, General VK Singh, was stationed in Yemen to supervise and coordinate the evacuation work. The success of Operation Rahat has attracted global praise.
But our news channels, famous for making a mountain out of a mole-hill, didn’t give due coverage to Operation Rahat. Instead, they went overboard in attacking General Singh on his various Twitter comments.
