Sir — This refers to the report, “Subramanian Swamy merges party with BJP” (August 12). The Janata Party president has done well to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. His entry into the BJP will certainly strengthen the party and be mutually beneficial.
Mr Swamy has realised, albeit a tad late, that there is no point in ploughing a lone furrow and continuing with a party that had failed to register any growth. Unity among all of the Janata parivar is the need of the hour if the scam-tainted Congress and the UPA Government it leads, has to be dislodged at the Centre.
