Sir — This refers to the editorial, “New beginning for Iran” (January 19). The lifting of economic sections from Iran will have significant implications for New Delhi. India can now not only resume oil imports, but also oil imports will be cheaper.
Besides, this deal will also facilitate more trade opportunities for India. It will be a win-win situation for both India and Iran, but India needs to minimise the growing clout of China through proactive diplomacy.
