This refers to the editorial, “Akhilesh’s grand gamble” (October 31). Indeed, the latest move of a ministerial reshuffle by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is a welcome move. Moreover, the kind of advertisement that is being run in both the print media and on radio stations, about the work done by the Uttar Pradesh Government, makes it clear that Mr Yadav has started preparing well in advance for the 2017 Assembly poll.
Mr Yadav knows that he needs to pull up his socks in order to prove that his Government has done some good work during his tenure. Many senior Samajwadi Party leaders have proven to be a liability till now. Hopefully he will be able to assert his authority from now onwards, be a tough taskmaster and take Uttar Pradesh into a new and positive direction.
