Sir — Declared or undeclared, Mr Rahul Gandhi is the prime ministerial candidate of the Congress. There is no point in discussing the Congress’s decision of not naming him as party’s prime ministerial nominee for the forthcoming lok Sabha election. He has been entrusted with leading the party’s election campaign.
Till the emergence of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, it was assumed that the Congress would lose the election, and a Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA Government at the Centre was a certainty. The AAP’s decision to contest the election and Mr Kejriwal’s popularity has changed the scene. The Congress has reason to be hopeful.
