This refers to the editorial, “Fortifying possibilities” (June 10). While addressing the joint session of the US Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the US as an “indispensable partner” of India. Modi may be right to some extent, but the US administration must not forget about the latest threat by lashkar-e-Tayyeba chief Hafiz Saeed of a nuclear attack in India. And if the US is genuinely India’s indispensable partner, it must help India fight terrorism. It must not just look at the muscular rural and urban markets of India for its benefit.
