Sir — This refers to the editorial, “The Ministry of Empathy” (December 31). None of the Ministers in the previous Governments had ever thought of reaching out to people in distress, leave alone really helping them in the way Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has been doing through her Twitter account.
Swaraj is not under any obligation to help these people; she does it because of her genuine concern towards them. The world is full of powerful people who can use their power to help the needy, but it takes large-heartedness like in her case to make the difference. As they say, deeds work like boomerang. I am sure she will be rewarded well for her good karmas. She is an excellent example for other leaders who must take a leaf out of her book.
