Sir — This refers to the article, “Adding glamour to dull-sounding script” (February 6) by Gautam Mukherjee. Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is confident to the extent of perhaps sounding arrogant at times, but then he has more than 10 years of solid governance record behind him, which is the reason for his confidence. It is not about adding just a glamour quotient to the electoral battle but of playing smartly to get to the 272-mark. So far, Mr Modi has been treading the right path, talking of development, inclusive growth and of reviving the agricultural sector.
He has been drawing huge crowds at all his rallies, wherever he goes, because he is a great orator, much like Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee. People are desperately looking for a change for the better, and they believe that Mr Modi can give them that change.
