Friendly banter

This refers to the report, “Bihar CM’s sandalwood & snake tweet raises a stink” (July 23). When politicians say something in a lighter vein, they often wax lyrical and, with a view to embellishing their expressions, cite some famous couplets of  prominent poets. They do not necessarily mean what we make out of them. 

In this case, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had possible not imagined the kind of response that his tweet would have caused.Interestingly, a similar situation had arisen when the RJD supremo made his ‘venom’ remark after his party formed an alliance with Mr Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) in Bihar. let’s just take such remarks as friendly banter between old acquaintances.
