This refers to the editorial, “Review personal laws” (March 30). With the Supreme Court asking the Union Government to file before it a panel’s report on Muslim personal law, it is time the Government reforms the personal laws so as to ensure that they are in tune with modern-day norms. It is sad that the All India Muslim Personal law Board is against changes in the law, like the triple-talaq system that gravely affects thousands of Indian Muslim women.
