Sir — This refers to the editorial, “No end to depravity” (April 22). You are right in pointing out that, contrary to its oft repeated slogan, Delhi Police is not really ‘with you, for you, always’.
If any further proof of that is needed, then the rising crime graph in the city, especially in connection with offences targeting woman and children, is evidence enough of the lackadaisical and insensitive attitude of the force towards issues of safety of the aam aadmi.
Regrettably, the security agencies inspire little confidence, evoking fear and dread not in criminals, but in the minds of the common man. No wonder the protesters are demanding the Delhi Police chief’s scalp.
