Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Blot on India’s history” (January 20). It is a slap on the face of humanity that Kashmiri Pandits are living a miserable life. They were living in the valley for the 5,000 years and were forced to leave their homeland. Few other ethnic groups have suffered such ignominy. Even the Jews, after the Holocaust, were rehabilitated in the separate State of Israel which was established in 1948.
Kashmir valley’s Muslim majority population is also opposed to giving full citizenship rights to West Pakistani refugees as the latter are Hindus. Political parties are equally disinterested in the welfare of either community.
