Sir — With the demise of APJ Abdul Kalam, India has lost one of its brightest sons. India has given birth to a number of world-class scientists and statesmen, but what keeps Kalam apart from others is not only his science, but also simplicity and spirituality.
It was his heart, a heart beating all the time to take India forward; beating to elevate the living of poor Indians; and beating to give new meaning to the aspirations of young India.
It is a sombre moment for all of us, but I will not say ‘Rest in Peace Kalam’, because for me Kalam was not born to rest in peace, but to remain ignited in the hearts of billions of Indians.
He was born to stay in the eyes of every child; he was born to be in the verses of every Indian poem; he was born to take re-birth from the sweat of every hard worker.
Above all, he was born to guide the destiny of this great nation India. He was indeed the missile man of India. We will not let you go, Kalam sir. We will always keep you alive by our deeds.
