This refers to the report, “Muslim clerics must make voice against radicals heard” (February 9) by Rajesh Singh. While speaking at an interaction organised by the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, New Delhi, noted West Asia expert and president of Middle East Forum, Daniel Pipes ,praised the Indian Muslim clerics for their condemnation of violence. However, this is not enough. While Muslim clerics condemn violence, they fail to demand stringent punishment to the perpetrators of violence in the name of religion.
