Sir — This refers to the article, “Prime Minister’s mask of integrity must go” (January 7) by A Surya Prakash. I have always maintained that Mr Manmohan Singh’s so-called honesty is an optical illusion created with lots of smoke and plenty of mirrors and with the help of a pliant media.
Once the smoke is clear, his true character is revealed. There is lack of basic honesty when a person occupies the Prime Minister’s position for 10 long years without bothering to approach the people for a mandate.
