Fake bonhomie

Sir — This refers to the article, “Made for each other. Really, since whenIJ” (October 13) by Rajesh Singh. The author has eloquently dismissed the apparent friendly jibes between an inept Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and the socialist Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav.

An old adage which says, adversity makes strange bedfellows, aptly applies to both the leaders. Ram Manohar lohia, the founder of the Indian socialist movement, would have never  allowed any such intimacy, had he been alive.

A recent poll survey by India Today predicted a hung Assembly in Uttar Pradesh. While the BSP was shown as second, the Samajwadi Party and the Congress were shown at third and fourth positions respectively. This is the only closeness between Gandhi and Yadav. Or should we say that the “khoon ki dalali” remark was invented by bothIJ
