Sir — This refers to the article, “Stick, not carrot, works to dig out black money” (October 17) by Joginder Singh. The Modi Government came to power with a promise to unearth black money and to distribute the same to the poor. Such promised action, which is badly needed, has clearly fetched the mandate of the electorate.
Not only do black money owners transgress the law of the land, but also play with the lives of the poor. As inflation happens when too much money chases too few goods, unearthing of black money will check price rise much to the relief of the poor. If the purchasing power of the poor goes up, it will certainly bring all-round growth for our economy, catapulting demand, industry and employment.
