Sir — This refers to the article, “Hide-and-seek game that Pakistan plays” (August 2) by G Parthasarathy. A stranger stabs you in the front, a boy friend stabs you in the heart, but an enemy stabs you in the back. Pakistan has always stabbed us in the back.
All ducks have wings, but many cannot fly because they have been paddling in the water too long. Many adults are like children who pretend they are swimming when they are walking on the bottom of the pool. This is the situation in which India is placed.
The best way to eliminate a problem is to face it. If you do not take that risk, then failure eventually haunts you again and again. Therefore, accept the challenge in every situation, even if it involves taking a bold step, and learn to accept fear as a positive thing.
The fact is, much as we may try, our relations with Pakistan can never improve in the given circumstances. Why do we then anxiously wait for a solution that will not come by itselfIJ Instead of allowing fear to cripple our future, we must decide that we will face it head-on and use it as a force to propel the country ahead.
