Exposing Pakistan

Published on:

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Pakistan must answer” (September 16). The matter of Balochistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised during his Independence Day speech, led some Congress stalwarts, including  Salman Khurshid and Kapil Sibal, to castigate him.

They even said that this ‘shenanigan’ will impact India’s attempts to raise the issue of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir. However, it has now turned out to be a misplaced apprehension. Scenes of mass murders are discernible in Balochistan at the hands of the Pakistan Army, to everyone in the international community. But Pakistan, which sees Kashmir with jaundiced eyes, refuses to admit the reality.

The day is not far off when Balochistan will secede from Pakistan. The iron is hot and India has to strike hard. India has touched Pakistan’s raw nerve by raising the issue of Balochistan and PoK at a UN meet in Geneva.
