Sir — Founder of Islamic Research Foundation, Zakir Naik, is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. Dhaka’s Daily Star has revealed that the two terrorists, who attacked a Dhaka café, were followers of this Mumbai-based preacher.
Naik is notorious for justifying jihadi terror attacks openly, refusing to condemn them, and providing ridiculously contrived justifications for the discriminatory practices of Islam. Unlike in the UK and Canada, Naik enjoys complete freedom to propagate his bigotry and totalitarian brand of Islam in India.What is needed is an open, strong, and viable alternative from within Islam that can combat the menace of radical Islamism thoroughly.
