Sir — This refers to the report, “Mulayam brokers tenuous peace” (September 17). A crisis, looming large over the ruling Samajwadi Party in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, has for now come to an end after Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s successful intervention. Mulayam Singh Yadav is held in highest esteem not only by the Yadav clan, but also by his party members. This is the reason why he has been able to strike a truce though a tenuous deal.
