Sir — This refers to the report, “Fight for Jaya’s assets intensifies” (June 12). J Jayalalithaa had left behind properties and incomes worth crores, which as per official declaration in the year 2015 amounted to Rs117.13 crore, with movable assets worth Rs45.04 crore and immovable assets worth Rs72.09 crore. She has left no dependants or any will.

As per media reports, Jayalalithaa was not so close to her niece Deepa. She was not even allowed to enter the Apollo hospital at Chennai during her last days.

If much-awaited Supreme Court verdict against Jayalalithaa would have come during her life time, all her assets would have gone to the State. Under the present circumstances, all her movable and immovable assets should go to the State, without allowing these to be football for greed between rival ones claiming her legacy.
