The only remedy for the smooth functioning of the legislature — both Parliament and State Assemblies — lies in abolishing the often misused immunity given to legislators during House proceedings.
The world’s biggest democracy is frustrated with weak legislative norms. The live telecast of legislative proceedings should be replaced by recorded telecast because legislators often disrupt proceedings to become ‘heroes’ among their voters.
