Sir — This refers to the article, “The missing women of Indian media” (December 4) by Shreya Kedia. While it is true that the media has been an all-male territory, but to put the blame entirely on men will be unfair. To some extent, women themselves are responsible for their plight.
When it comes to field reporting or putting a strong opinion, they crouch. Some of them even contend themselves with tender subjects. There have been very few women who have made the heads move with their sheer competence.
More media watchgroups would not be required if more and more women get the courage to occupy positions of decision-making.
