Sir — This refers to Team India’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Australia. Some critics might dismiss it by saying that, since the Australian cricket team was the weakest ever to tour India, the victory is not that sweet.
However, we should not forget that, barring Michael Hussey and Ricky Ponting, this was much the same Australian team which whitewashed us on its home turf. So, it is indeed sweet revenge for MS Dhoni and company. The victory becomes all the more enjoyable since it’s the youth brigade of Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin, which largely contributed to the scintillating triumph.
We might find ourselves struggling again on the fast and bouncy pitches of South Africa, but till then we must relish this historic and unprecedented win.
