Sir — This refers to the report, “JNU rusticates 3 students” (April 26). The rustication of Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, shows that the students broke disciplinary norms and their demonstrations cannot be wrapped up in the garb of freedom of speech. Students of Government-funded universities, or for that matter any other university, need to ponder over their very reason for joining universities in the first place.
