This refers to the editorial, “Rajan’s harmless remark” (April 22). Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan’s remark should have been taken in the right spirit. There is no reason to be too happy with the current economic growth in the country, as much needs to be done before we can achieve the eight per cent to nine percent growth. Rajan’s comments were aimed at highlighting the fact that India should utilise this time to keep its house in order so that when the global economy turns around, we are in proper shape to march ahead.
