Sir — This refers to the article, “Rejuvenating the river Ganga” (May 23) by Devender Singh Aswal. I was disheartened to read the article. Urbanisation has been more of a bane than a boon. Sewage disposal in rivers is a massive issue. There aren’t enough sewage treatment plants and large amounts of untreated waste goes into the rivers.
We also need to think of how we can reduce toilet water usage at home. Dry toilets may be the solution to our problem.
