This refers to the report “After PM, PC warns CBI against spreading wings” (November 13). An unnecessary controversy is being created over the Central Bureau of Investigation Director's view on allocation of national resources.
He has only quoted the Supreme Court. The Congress-led UPA regime is riddled with scores of scams and is in an embarrassing position. In this situation, it is unfortunate that the Prime Minister has dragged civil servants into the mess. Bureaucrats who have flouted the rules and acted on oral instructions of their political bosses are in trouble.
But decision-making within the Government has come to a halt, not due to bureaucrats but because of Ministers who do not decide on a case based on merits. For instance, both in the 2G Spectrum and coal block allocation cases, the Government considered auctioning to be the best method of distribution. But did it implement it in a transparent mannerIJ Was it not ‘warned’ by experts and bureaucrats on this issueIJ
