Sir — This refers to the report, “Muslims will split their vote, or will theyIJ” (March 2) by Chandan Mitra. The writer-cum analyser has expressed his hope that the division of Muslim votes in Uttar Pradesh will lead to future victory for the BJP in Mau and other eastern areas of
the State.
It is a known fact that Muslim votes or support are effective tools for our leaders to win any election, especially in this particular State. That might be true to some extent, but one wonders why has this been the normIJ Why don’t we think about positives, that is to win elections through a united Hindu voteIJ This seems to be impossible since most political parties want to divide the Hindus on the basis of caste.
