This refers to the article, “Modi is a villain, Sharif the hero! Sick mindset” (November 23) by Balbir Punj. Perhaps, there is chasm between two sections of Hindus in India. On the one hand, there are Hindus who claim to be modern and are ashamed of being Hindus. On the other, there are those who follow Hinduism but have a deep dislike for those outside their caste.
However, it is not clear as to what kind of country India will be, if the Hindus are divided and lose political authority.
