Divided Opposition

Sir — This refers to the article, “Not the disaster that critics say” (December 27) by JS Rajput. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had himself admitted on November 8 that people would face inconvenience. As predicted, people faced problems but a majority is with the Prime Minister on this move and do not complain because it knows that this short-term difficulty is for the larger benefit of the nation in the long-run.

As usual, opposition parties have found fault with this move and are trying to pull the Prime Minister and the Government down. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi even alleged that he has proof against the Prime Minister that would create an earthquake. But he has not come up with anything yet. We all know how shallow his credentials are.

Also, many opposition parties said ‘no’ to the offer of a joint Press conference led by the Congress. It is high time that the grand old party stops misleading the people and instead, think with maturity for the larger good of this country.
