Was Jawaharlal Nehru all that we have grown up with, or is there more that has been kept under coversIJ looking at the ‘family worship’ that prevails and our education system that does not look at history objectively and over-romanticises the Mughals, this appears to be the case. After all, Nehru, despite his ‘nationalist' outlook, messed up the Kashmir issue. We are paying the price for that to this day.
The deliberate attempt to undermine the Hindu ethos and only highlight negatives such as child marriage, sati and the caste-system, is part of the flawed education and social system that the Congress has heaped on us. We would be happy if a Government that has the courage to bring out the truth, apply a balm on the conflicts between communities, and give a positive outlook and sense of purpose to millions, comes to power.
